Here it is the end of 2012 and the beginning of 2013…Last year (2012) we saw an increase of 4145 new members over 2011 which had 2848 and compared to 2010 when we saw 1690. These numbers reflect the application and do not account for those denied or banned for spam.
The ending stats may be off a couple of numbers due to time zones and cutoff time for this posting.
2012 ends with 6638 members ( approved) with 10955 posts and 1503 new topics. November posted the highest single day on line number since beginning (261). That is a lot of folks in the forum at the same time…A good showing for the forum. And as we followed the postings a lot of questions were answered. New pictures and several tutorials added to the forum for searching. We saw an average of 22 posts per day..
That is a pretty good showing for only 4 years of being here.
One point worth mentioning is that this is the only forum I have ever seen where all get along very nicely and with respect. It is a well behaved forum and does not require pre-post monitoring.
A number of contributors gave knowledgeable answers to some very good questions. The experience level within this forum is growing and has good folks who are willing to share.
As with any computer data base it is not without costs to maintain. While Robert does not demand any type of fees for this forum it does seek any help that can be given.
Certain membership levels are tied to a specific amount but certainly any donation is accepted and applied towards upkeep and growth.
You may look thru the forum for ways to send contributions. As it stands right now we have 6638 members and of those less than 24 made some form of dollar help.. We ask that in 2013 you consider some amount towards the continued availability of the forum, whether this be for the charter membership or simply a small token of appreciation and assistance.
We also wish to express our thanks to the sponsors. They have good products that interface well with the HB products. Often performing actions that the HB unit is not capable of doing, especially in mapping and sonar reviews. I dont know what I would do without the external viewing programs. Without the sponsors it would be very difficult to keep operating.
Humminbird has new growth themselves for 2013 and certainly this forum helps to promote the product they produce. As with any new product there can be issues and this forum quickly identifies and most of the time offers solutions. Thereby making the HB series a product to consider when interested in a new purchase.
From the Forum Staff I wish all a very happy new year and may all the fishing trips be fruitful.
Good luck and let us hear from you occasionally … Remember there is no stupid question. Feel free to ask any you may have. A number of good and valuable responses can be posted back to you.
Again: Many, Many thanks to all the folks who take time to help with the many questions asked here.
Thanks Guys.
Chuck (Sonar2000)
