Title: Card slot repair
Post by: Fador on March 01, 2010, 03:12:33 PM
greg could you kinda give me an idea on what the turn around time is to have a card reader installed in a 798ci SI Combo. Mine i guess came with one not installed the left one closet to the screen. Another ? i bought the AS SIDB Y and hooked it up just as shown on the labels on the cable. For some reason i have lost my depth to the Si with this cable connected. I have not mounted the puck yet in the hull just have it laying there so i havent hooked it up to the unit yet. So what has happened from me just hooking up the cable to the unit. Any ideas.

Fador,
the depth signal is coming from the 2d (down looking) sonar. If you don't have the puck hooked up to the splitter cable, the 2D signal is missing. Therefore you will not have a depth reading. Just hook up the transducer without the splitter cable and you should be OK.

Fador,
Harry is right about the 2D (and therefore water depth) information coming from the unmounted puck transducer.

The time here at the factory is typically three days or less.  Your unit will spend more time in shipping than it will here.
