New boat interference on console 1197
« on: September 30, 2012, 08:13:50 PM »
I got a new Skeeter WX1850 with a Yamaha F150.  I have been a Humminbird user for 5 years, and have rigged many units.

My new boat will have twin transducers which Im just getting around to tuning them in, but my problem, is motor interference from my F150.  I  get a good screen up until about 1100 rpms, then it completely clouds with electronic interference...

I wired directly back to the battery and avoided most of the stuff in the sidewall compartment.

Any ideas how to rectify this? Its hard to work on tun ing the transducers, when I cannot see thru the interference..

Thanks,

Hate to see her go, but love to watch her leave.

Greg,  I was going to try a separate battery, just to try and isolate the problem, but Im not really excited about havingor needing a  5th battery to power the electronics if thats the case..  I have a PC 11 choked power cords, and both units are home runs back to the battery..  I also was going to try moving a battery up to the console, and try it with just the supplied power cord, and not the extensions needed to get to the back battery..

Hate to see her go, but love to watch her leave.
