Does anyone know if Autochart would work on the Allegheny River in Pittsburgh, PA.? I don't want to buy a new Hummingbird if I can not chart the river.
Thank You for any replies.

AutoChart products create map data from depth data ...
It should work in any waterway if the installation allows depth readings ...

Thank You for the reply. I was wondering if I could download the map into a SD card or would I need a special card?

A zero lines card comes with the Autochart PC software and that is where the map will be sent once it is created. I'd recommend going with Autochart Pro. There's a good deal on it over here https://www.universalmania.com/products/humminbird-autochart-pro-dvd-pc-mapping-software-with-zero-lines-map-card (https://www.universalmania.com/products/humminbird-autochart-pro-dvd-pc-mapping-software-with-zero-lines-map-card)
The Pro software will allow creation of SI mosaic maps, bottom hardness, and vegetation maps that the non-pro software doesn't support.
You will want to use a regular SD card to record to with your 998 and then bring that data into the software.
I strongly recommend getting the Lake images tutorial for Autochart. It will save a LOT of time getting up to speed and is inexpensive.
The 3 disc set is a really good deal.... and they are a sponsor of this board. http://www.lakeimagestraining.com/ (http://www.lakeimagestraining.com/)
