The right transducer for my 998 csi
« on: June 13, 2016, 11:53:24 PM »
I have a 998 CSI unit. I am just getting a reading from the right side on my side imaging. My cable is frayed a little because I have a Minn Kota Power Drive V2. And the cable got caught while deploying it. So I will be buying a new transducer and I have no idea which one to buy for this unit. Also how can you get a depth reading while on plain? Thanks

The correct xducer for the 998 is XHS 9 HDSI 180 T ...

There are a few ways to get high speed depth readings ...

1. Mount the HDSI low enough on the transom to actually be in the water when the boat is up on plane ...

2. Mount the HDSI higher on the transom and also use a XNT 9 20 along with the AS SIDB Y cable ...and mount the XNT 9 20 low enough on the transom to actually be in the water when the boat is up on plane ...

3. Mount the HDSI higher on the transom and also use a XP 9 20 shoot thru in the bilge (if your hull is fiberglass) along with the AS SIDB Y cable ...

4. Mount the HDSI higher on the transom and also use an Alumaducer shoot thru in the bilge (if your hull is single layer aluminum) along with the AS SIDB Y cable ...

All of these options have 1 thing in common = the face of the 2d xducer must have constant contact with the water itself ... of the 2d xducer has contact with the section of boat hull that has constant contact with the water ...
