I am trying to mainly use my 898c SI to capture screen snapshots of habitat. With the function turned on and a SD card inserted the only the I get is a message of "Successfully Saved" though there isn't an image on the card or in the view images page. When trying to test the recording function I get an error of "Error creating file. Recording has stopped."
I was able to update the software on the unit using a SD card. Unit seems to be reading the SD cards as it shows almost full memory available on the diagnostic view screen.
Any help would be appreciated.

I am working on getting HumminbirdPC downloaded on my computer. and formating the SD cards. I have a little waiting game till my IT department can download the program onto my computer.
Thanks for the quick response. I am glad I found this website, as I got a quick response from it. While I am still waiting on an phone call/email communication.

The quick response was only due to me waiting on someone here where I work too! ;D
The SD Association has the same formatting software too if that will help get it through IT:

I had the same issue over the weekend. Updated 898 software and formatted the SD card so I hope that resolved the issue. I also had the unit freezing up and beeps lasting 5 seconds. it would take about 15 seconds for the unit to get back to operating.

Post news when you have tested ...
It could help someone else ...

To follow up on my last post about the 898 unit freezing up and long beeps.... Apparently the SD card became corrupted somehow while in the unit, I sorta believe it was due to operating the unit while battery voltage fell below the operational level. (Not exactly sure what the exact minimum voltage is for the unit). Anyway, after updating the software, formatting the SD card (16GB) and having a fully charged battery the unit worked like a charm.
