i-pilot link controller and remote software
« on: March 08, 2015, 05:32:39 PM »
I have just recently purchased the i-pilot link for my Terrova. I have updated the 998 with the latest software per MyHumminbird and I have registered the ipilot link at MyHumminbird.
The description for both the controller and remote states:
v2.040-this release is required for use with Humminbird products at software release 6.900 or higher. Additionally, the software on the Link controller must be at software release 2.140 or higher.

The remote says:"v2.140-this release is required for use with Humminbird products at software release 6.900 or higher. Additionally, the software on the Link remote must be at software release 2.040 or higher.

I haven't installed the system yet but the remote says the software is v1.150 so I am sure the controller doesn't have the needed version either.

Question, will I need to update both with the versions stated above(v2.140 and v2.040) before I can update with this new version or is like the Humminbird units, that if you miss one everthing is on the latest upgrade?

Thanks in advance

I think that you have your controller and remote software descriptions mixed up there but, yes, when you load the software it will load software changes made before that version too.  So you only have to load the current software to get all the changes.

There is a later version on "link but if you get the updates on the my humminbird on the HB site it will tell you that. There is a great description of updating in your ipilot link manual (CD). pg 36 and 37

Greg, it finally warmed up enough here in Iowa to get out in the garage and do the updates. (warm up was brief :-)). I did them in order one at a time, 1st 998, then controller, then remote. I had a brief panic when I got what I thought was a problem on the remote. All was well after I pulled the terrova up and then redeployed it. All good. Looking forward to getting on the water and trying it out.

Thanks for the help.
