I am having trouble seeing fish on my si  so would a 14 in bass just be a tiny spot on the si  say 20 ft of water range at 70ft any pics would be great.

Correct...crappie sized fish will just be a speck at 70ft SI Range ...

Shorten that SI Range ...or view 1 side only to make the echoes bigger...

Here's crappie at 65ft SI Range...(look at how much smaller even the brushpile is in the SI vs the 2d/DI) ...

Thanks for the pic can someone mark fish on Some of there pics prefer bass so I can get a idea what they look like in si  thanks guys.

      Nice image. I noticed on the SI part, that the sensitivity is at 19 in 12.2 FOW.   Why so high?   Wonder if you were at default (10) if the fish would have
      shown up.

I use the 800kHz image frequency 99% of the time because I want detail closer to the boat instead of vision at the edges of the display....

I'm constantly adjusting my SI Sensitivity thru the SI Enhance menu (seen overlayed at the bottom of the SI image)...

The SI Sensitivity setting allows me to adjust the brightness of the SI image dependent on the bottom composition at the time...

That image was a very soft mud bottom...and using 800kHz ....it was necessary to nearly max out the SI Sensitivity to get the image bright enough for what I wanted to see...

I very rarely look for fish per se...I'm looking for structure that should hold fish at the time of year...

It's interesting when I'm reading some of the forums (especially bass forums)...at the overall consensus of "I only use 455kHz"...

This does make perfect sense ...considering the normal use of SI to a bass fisherman...

*A bass fisherman is standing up ...(too far away from the unit to constantly push buttons)...
*A bass fisherman needs to see all the way to the edge of the screen for bass holding targets ...
*Cover lots of water ... cast...cast...cast ...hands are busy...no time for buttons...

455kHz fits that type of fishing and the user's need of their SI system ...

Conversely ... I'm a crappie fisherman that slow trolls ...

I need to pick apart structure close to the boat to see if it's the type of structure that should hold crappie...

800kHz fits my type of fishing and my need from my SI system...

BTW ... I use 455kHz when I'm covering new water to find newfound structure at the edges of the display...then I drop a waypoint on it ... And re-position the boat to scan it with 800kHz to see if it's crappie type structure...
