push pin grid in GPS view
« on: April 30, 2010, 11:43:15 AM »
On a 1197c SI, what does the push pin grid indicate in the GPS position view?  They do not appear to be related to the LAT/LON grid.

ET,
Are you meaning the trolling Grid that you can set on a waypoint?

No.  In the general GPS view there is a square pattern of what looks like 'push pins' or little ducks.  There are no lines connecting them.  They are a yellowish brown color.  I think they do not  show up on a screen shot.  I will have to take a photo of the screen to show you what I mean and post it later.

ET,
If it is showing on the display than it should show up on a screen snapshot.

Could this be some waypoints, channel markers – buoys, or maybe some feature from a map card?

It sounds like you are refering to the little Birds/Ducks that mark out Marine Santuaries or Protected Wildlife Habitats.

That's what it is Robert.  Is this explained anywhere in the HB documentation or Navionics information.

Thanks
Ed

No.  This is from Navionics and they should have a legend of the icons and such that they use.  Humminbird has been asking for this since we started using their mapping cards...  >:(
