Title: view Side Imaging on 859c DI?
Post by: jabsy on December 14, 2014, 05:38:05 AM
I have a 898SI and an 898DI. I got them both pretty much at the same time, the 898SI is the american model and the 859DI is the international. I have them both mounted on the console and the transducers mounted pretty close at the back of the boat.

I planned to be a smartypants and run the SI at 83 and 855, and the DI at 200 and 455, to reduce interference. Anyway mounted them all up, and had the first day on the water today. Under test, I was getting some interference, so had a fiddle with the frequencies. Anyway to cut a long story short, i ended up getting the 898SI transducer to feed both units (over the network) to see how it would go.

When I flipped thru the screens of the DI model, I had side image screens? Is this normal?

One of the software updates made it possible to display SI on a 859 ...... through a SI unit.

Ahh OK, thanks. I thought this might be the case. I did check last week to see if there was a list of all the features made available/fixed thru the updates, but couldn't find anything. Humminbird are a bit slack in this regard. Latest for download in AU is a v6 firmware, I've had 2 V7's already on this 859.
