Title: 998 vs 1198 ect
Post by: beertech on April 05, 2014, 10:33:40 PM
I am finally  looking to get side imaging.  I have two boats so looking to swap whatever i get between the two.  For that reason i want internal gps to save buying one.  I believe the 998 is external but the 999 and 1198 are internal.  If i buy one of those what would i need to buy as far as transducers for second boat.  I know i would need power cable.  and is it possible to get rid of white readouts on 999 on all screens yet

1199 is internal, 1198 is not....

sfw1960 is correct above...

Also you would need...:

*PC 11 power cord...
*Gimbal bracket...
*XHS 9 HDSI 180 T xducer...

(The readout boxes can be eliminated on the full screen SI view only of the 800/900 series units...select SI  Readouts- Off under the Sonar tab)...

The external antenna will work on the x98 series and the x99 series...

The x99 series is internal antenna so it can be used with or without external antenna...

thanks everyone actually just went to basspro to check them out further.    The 1198 seems so much bigger than the 998 especially with that stupid white bar on the side.  why dont they make it diplay like the lowrance
