i have bought a 797c2s second hand. it has no trasum mount. the transducer is 6x3x1 what mount do i need? can anybody tell me if this is the transducer that originally came with the 797 or is it one that came with another model?

Sounds like you got the HDSI transducer. The guy who was upgrading probably didn't bother changing out the Compact SI for the HDSI. Spoke to Terry on the phone and he confirmed.
You need the transom mount shown here.
