Title: 360 interference
Post by: biggs aquaholic on April 06, 2014, 01:17:34 AM
I have a 998c HD and 360 on bow as well as a  998c HD at the steering helm. I get interference on 360 when both units are on. I have tried powering both units with the 360 on, but unplugged the transducer to the 2nd unit at the steering helm and the interference goes away. Any suggestions to remedy this?

You are most likely getting crosstalk interference....

You can easily turn off the sonar on the helm 998 by pressing the power button...a popup window will open allowing you to shut off the sonar in that unit but still be able to use the unit as a chartplotter...

What type of interference are you getting biggs?
If this is sonar-to-sonar; what frequencies are you seeing this on?

Greg im getting  readings on the 360 on the bow and readings on the sideimaging at the helm , but they both have the lines of interferance that show up when they are both on . Im going on vacation for seven days, when I come back i will upload some photos of the interference .. The interference looks like lines running horizontal on the side imaging, and lines extending from the center extending out to the end of the circle on the 360. But like I said the interferance goes away if I turn the sonar off on either unit .

Thanks Scott Biggs

Classic Si to 360 sonar interference Scott.  The only things you can do is: set the Si or 360 sonar to a different frequency, set the units to display the same sonar source or turn one of them off (on the 998 at the console you can turn the sonar off by pressing the Power button and selecting “Off” in the Sonar menu).
