Title: Cut and repair cable
Post by: jnordyke on February 06, 2013, 11:41:02 PM
When I tried to retrieve the transom-mount transducer cable from my 597ci hd di (XNT 9 DI T), I couldn't get all of it out of the raceway it is installed in.  I am relocating the head from console to rack at transom, and I CAN retrieve enough of both ends of the cable to install where I want if I can cut the cable and splice back together.  I am reasonably proficient with shrink wrap and soldering iron.  If I do careful work, can I get away with this??

Hi,

Yes, you can. I have cut and joined transducer cables many times without problems.
