Using video out from console to bow.
« on: December 27, 2011, 09:28:59 PM »
Has anyone ever used a video out cable from 898 at console to another unit at bow?
I want to see the exact same image at both spots.
Thanks

You cannot use the video out to connect 2 HB units.

The video out is for an output to a monitor, PC with video, etc.  If you search this site you should get quite a few hits on using the video out.

you can use pretty much any monitor or TV that has a video input jack on it.....even saw one guy who was playing back his recordings at home with the video out to a 55" TV to try to see things he missed on the water.

Your considerations would include whether the monitor is sunlight visible, is it durable enough to use in a boat, what power is required to power it, etc.
Some have even used a monitor designed for a DVD.

There are some marine monitors designed for this, but they are very expensive.

Hi Dix :D

A second unit via ethernet is probably a better solution than a monitor. The price is about the same, but with a second unit, you have the possibility to change the settings.
