998 Update Problem w/iPilot Link
« on: June 22, 2013, 04:47:17 PM »
Just purchased a new 998c SI, replaced my 898, after hooking the cables back up and powering it on everything was working just fine. Including the iPilot Link.

Updated to the latest software today, and the update seemed to go fine, so I loaded up the iPilot Link controller update to get that squared away, however now the unit is not detecting the iPilot system?

Only other issue I had, was while trying to get the system to detect the ipilot I disconnected the connection and reconnected it, shortly after the unit shut down and refused to turn back on, after checking connections over and over I checked the fuse and it wasn't blown. After checking that the unit turned back on, but still will not detect the iPilot Link.

Should I redo the update and see if that helps? Or should I try to install an older update? Would hate to lock the unit up and have to ship it back to the factory. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks again.

If you still have the 898 unit you could plug it up and see if it will connect to the i-Pilot Link or not.

I do not have the 898 any more, it was lost/stolen, not sure if it was stolen so I guess I lost it some how when I took it off the boat when I took it in for repairs.

Any way to report it lost/stolen, if someone finds it and tries to register it?

Was unable to call tech support today as I didn't get off work in time.

No we do not have any way to automatically detect a specific unit by serial number when it comes into the shop or when someone calls.  That would be neat though…
