NMEA Output ON interference
« on: June 06, 2010, 07:19:31 AM »
Hi All!

I don't know it this has been handled before, but...
I noticed from Kevin's very intresting Windermere's Mystery Wrecks topic that in some images there is same kind of interference that I have encountered.
In my case it was caused by the 798ci NMEA Output setting being set to "ON" as I was fetching NMEA data to other application. It seemed that the interference is caused by some kind of internal leak, because was present with the NMEA cable connected or not. With setting "OFF" the interference don't exist. So this is the case with 798ci (at least with my unit).

Below is screenshots of part of Kevins SI image and mine with NMEA Output setting "ON"
White dots in my image are caused by electric motor interference. Light repeaded lines are caused by NMEA Output "ON" interference in my image.
The 798ci filter settings can kill my electric motor interference but has not any effect on NMEA interference.
