Title: Can you keep all the tracks on map?
Post by: cainer70 on August 10, 2010, 07:15:20 PM
Ive been pre fishing a large lake for a tournament this weekend and I have noticed today that a lot of tracks to and from my fishing spots and other parts of the lake have been deleted but some are still there. its a large dead head infested lake and i used all the tracks to keep track of where i have been and haven't been yet on the lake. how do i set it so that all my tracks stay on the map?

cainer70,

You will need to save your tracks in order for them to stay on the unit.  You are limited to 50 tracks on the 798.

ok, what about saving tracks to an SD? Is that possible as well? It looks like my 798 deleted almost all of my tracks over one night except for one main "trail" or maybe it just kept the most recent day's tracks im not sure. Over the past week or so i have developed shortcuts between islands deadhead and rocks now i have nothing to reference by.

You have to Save the tracks on the unit, then you can use the Export All Nav Data to save the tracks, routes, and waypoints to the SD card.

Another thing to remember is the current track starts after you save or delete a current track, and makes no difference how many times the unit is turned on and off.
A single track has a limited length (track points) and when that length is exceeded, the beginning of it will be erased to have data to add to the end.

Basically you can have a current track that has data from several days and several bodies of water.
