Trolling motor D2 transducer only
« on: March 07, 2013, 11:25:55 AM »
I have an 898si combo with the transducer mounted at the rear of my boat and was thinking on adding a tolling motor transducer.  On the Humminbird website it give me the model number for the side imaging transducer but not one for 2D sonar only.  Is there a 2D only transducer for this model and is there any thing else I need to complete the job (switches, extra cables).  I did a search of the site but couldn't find the answer.  Thanks for the help.

Turk,
All you need is the trolling motor HDSi transducer and a TS3 Transducer Switch.  The HDSi transducer has the 2D sonar built into it.

So you are saying Humminbird doesn't offer a 2D only transducer for the 898.  I mostly use the 2D when I'm working the trolling motor and would like to see whats under my feet not the back of the boat and I figured why spend the money on the Si transducer if i can get a 2D transducer and save a couple bucks.

Yes we do make a 2D only transducer that will work with the 898c Si units.  Look for the XTM-9-20-T transducer. When you toggle the switch you will also need to change the Transducer Selected (or could be called Connected Transducer) menu to whichever transducer the unit is connected to.
