It is because you have already created a custom map somewhere else.  Did you use the tutorial files and create a custom map there, which is in northern Minnesota?
If you did, or if you created a map somewhere else, when you mapped that area, that defined your custom map area 620miles x 620miles(1,000km x 1,000km).  So, when you tried adding the map area for your lake in your attached screenshots, it gave you an error because that new area is well outside 620 miles from the first map you created in Autochart.

Here's how you can fix it. On your zerolines sd card, rename the AC folder to AC1. Then create a new folder titled AC. Go back into Autochart, and map your area in your screenshots. You should be good as gravy from there!

Or, if you want to get rid of any maps you've already created, you could just delete the AC folder, and create a new one.

Tried to make a new what?  AC folder?

If you're not comfortable deleting the AC folder, you can just rename it to AC1.  Then create a new folder titled AC.

If you need anything else, let me know.

CamoHunter i did make a new folder AC and rename the first one AC 1 and the programme works thank you.
I put the zero lines card in my headunit and it shows my first mapping area.
You could see the tracklines in the map,but i think it is in the settings i must look for.
Thank you for the help on the other side of the ocean.
