Title: R00001 file in HB PC
Post by: rnvinc on February 02, 2010, 04:27:50 PM
I made a 20 minute recording in simulation mode on my 1197 unit...I'm learning.. :) :)

During this recording, I marked a 4 waypoints using the "Mark" button on the 1197 unit....

I stopped the recording......

Exported the NAV data to my SD card....

Opened HB PC on my pc......put SD card in card reader slot in my pc....

Clicked the blue download arrow under the pic of the SD card in HB PC...

Info downloaded into HB PC....

Clicked on the GPX file in HB PC...

Clicked on "Waypoints" under the GPX file...

GPX file opened in right pane with following showing....

4 waypoints that I created while recording on the 1197 unit...
   R00001 recording file....

Why did the R00001 file transfer to HB PC...??
Is there something in this file that I can use in HB PC...??

Hm,
try the  following: Mark the R0001 file and hit the Google Earth button  ;)

The R00001 file shows up in GE also....even on the aerial view....

Let me ask this...

When I first started the recording on my 1197 unit....I'm pretty sure that a waypoint was created at the beginning of the recording.....

Being as the 4 waypoints that I created are labeled as...002, 003, 004, 005......

Is the R00001 actually the first waypoint and instead of being named 001...it is labeled R00001...???

Therefore, the R00001 file is not the "R00001 record file" ....but, instead it is the first waypoint created when I started the recording...??

the "R" prefix indicates the startpoint of a "R"ecording while the waypoints just have bare numbers. If you take a snapshot on the water I think the prefix is "S".

Exactly, when ever you start a recording, you will get a waypoint R000##.  Also, whenever you take a snapshot, you will also mark a waypoint so these waypoints are numbered with an S000##.

Sounds like you are making lots of progress.  Let us know if we can help any more!
