Fish Alarm
« on: April 15, 2015, 06:19:02 PM »
Bought the helix 5 si gps, mainly fish farm ponds and lakes. Have had unit out on 2 different lakes and caught limit of fish. Fish alarm was set correctly, fish id set, sensitivity set, showed structure well but fish alarm only went off once. Both places water depth was max 20 feet, Any thoughts on maybe sonar scares the fish?

Welcome to the Humminbird Side imaging Forums TomRyan.

I’ll not get into the whole ‘can fish hear sonar’ debate but wanted to ask if you saw any sonar returns besides the bottom structure?  Not all suspended sonar returns get marked with a Fish ID Symbol and unless they do, the Fish Alarm will not sound.
