I finally found some fish
« on: January 16, 2013, 05:26:15 PM »
Hello All, I purchased a 798ci HD SI about 2 years ago ad really haven't seen any fish on side scan. I have been trying to find fish in a lake that is very, very weedy, I finally went to a lake last weekend  that doesn't have weeds and found some fish on side scan. I was recording when I found them and now I can't view them I'm getting a error when I'm trying to convert the files. The recordings are long that may be the problem, I'm going to go back this weekend and make some shorter recordings.

I've tried Yellowfin, that's where I was getting the errors trying to convert the files using HBSI sonar file converter. I tied Humviewer that would start to load but it froze at about 47percent, I think the recording is too long. I've mostly been lurking on this site reading and learning. thanks in advance for any advice.

Large recording may have issues with some of the viewers. We find it best to keep recordings of sonar in 30 minute lengths. Although you could a little bit longer..
Make sure you stop the recordings before taking out the sd card. That can cause issues also.
