Helix 8 si transducer question

so I recently bought a helix 8 si this is my first si unit. Having the transducer mounted like this will it work fine or will I get interference? Thanks

The SI beams reach all the way to the water’s surface on each side  ... you may have some blockage  ...

The easiest way to discern this is to test where you have it and then compare with the xducer farther down in the water (either some kind of extension of your bracket downward or on a separate stick)  ...
