Title: Raymarine announces "adjustable" individual left and right piezoes...
Post by: rnvinc on July 19, 2014, 11:32:32 AM
This could open some interesting xducer experiments...

Sure,
this is interesting. If the nominal resonance frequencies are 455 or 800 kHz (or even 262 kHz) the transducer will probably fit the Humminbirds. There are still no data on these features on their website.

As this is touted to use the same CHIRP technology as the Dragonfly ...wouldn't the frequency(s) be a "sweep" range...??

And if those "Sweep" frequencies encompassed the 455kHz and 800kHz in their respective "sweep" range....would the xducer still be able to work at the fixed frequencies of 455kHz and 800kHz...?? (And possibly work with the HB)...

Yes, if the CHIRP signal encompasses 455 or 800 kHz the xducer will likely work with a Humminbird. It will probably work pretty well with a Humminbird even if the resonance frequencies are a bit lower or higher than the ideal levels. Since a CHIRP system works with a frequency range the manufacturer may refrain from presenting frequency data. If this happens, we have to test the xducer ourselves and see what happens.

I can't seem to find the data right away...

But I think I read the ranges encompassed the 455kHz and the 800kHz...

I will post the data when I can find it again...
