anyone have a early 90s procraft boat with hdsi tranducer mouted pictures. i have thru hull just cant seem to find spot for good side imaging shots.

joe, A few mone pix pls. wiht tie downs removed, motor down, closer from aft, 45' each side, 90' each side.
Is the boat a step hull?

What is not working on the Si sonar?
Can you post a few Screen Snapshots of what is not working/what you are seeing?
I don’t see many mounting possibilities here unless some type of adapter is used... but that depends on what the problem is.

i has a 798 with compact si mounted where the hdsi is at now. i always had dark images on port side. i thought it was not level from port to starboard creating the darkness. when i bought the 998 i bought the thru hull and y cable to get better reading at speed. that is working fine. On the hdsi the left side is almost completely dark. it looks like im getting blocked by the bottom of the hull since its mounted in a small pocket on transom. i put it as far bown as i could and got slightly better piture but it so far bown that it springs up when on plane. i want it as high as possible and the best image possible. can i mount it on the underside of the step offset to right. i will have to trim up but will the step cause turbulence at 3-5mph? im open to all/any help. thanks

Yes you can try mounting it there but first I would try bending the sides of the metal bracket inwards a little to add to the force needed to pivot the transducer upwards. This may help with the transducer kicking up but ultimately I think that you are going have to either relocate the transducer or install a second HDSi transducer on the left side of your boat and use an AS-Si-LR-Y cable to connect them both to the other y-cable.
Is there enough room for the transducer just to the right of the motor mount? If you could mount it there, as low as it will go, it may be low enough that the left Si sonar will not get blocked.

Does the left side stay dark with the outboard trimmed up?

yes. its worse in shallow water

Get a Transducer Shield and Saver bracket and mount it to the bottom of the step at the proper height (shim it down), so youre getting clean water across the face of the transducer..
You wont regret it..
