high sonar reflection to the right of center top to bottom.


Pipes


Perforated pipe suspended above weight with bubble curtain

2nd to the last photo shows the perforated pipe suspended across the bottom with a wall of bubbles running the length of the pipe.
yup! it is a lake size aeration system being run by the TVA.  Roughly 3 miles of perforated pipe in 6 branches and 2 VERY large air compressors.

The lake is 3160 acres and can fluctuate 11 feet between summer and winter

according to the locals that were here when they started this years ago it's good for the fish and bad for the fishermen.  I was told they hold a lot deeper near these things to 30 plus feet.  I tried an hour of running double down riggers with no luck.  ran it from 15 to 45 feet with no luck.  but then I suppose I was just fishin and not catching.  maybe another time.

that explains alot on that lake.  was over there doing some night fishing and on the way back to the ramp saw the bubbles...spooked the crap out of me  ;D 

now that I have the 898 I'll have to see it for myself.  thx for the shots.
Tell them I've gone fishing!
