Waypoint Management System
« on: April 10, 2010, 09:28:12 PM »
Hello,

does anyone know when HB is coming out with some sort of better WP management system?  The Current system does not allow for those timely marks and then be able to identify the mark quickly instead of just putting it in as  a number.

ex. wp 0005..  Well what is WP 0005?  Alot of times I am searching a bank and may make several marks and want to come back to those areas and fish them later--but Most of the time when you hit Mark--it just gives it a #, 0005,0006,0007,etc..........

They (HB) need to make a quick identifying tool to push a Button for Mark--then identify the Mark with a pop up window as a ICON or a Word.  That way you can quickly tell yourself what your marking this area for.  Ex..the Fish icon, or a Bridge icon,  as I like using Icons to make my WP's as I can quickly scan a lake full or WP's and look for those WP's i want to go to that day.

I guess I can  only wish for now --but had heard that some sort of WP management system was coming.

Bobby

There are several different icons to use on both of the units I have.

Go to waypoints, edit, select a waypoint to edit, go down to icons, then highlight the icon and move the arrow up and down to select between 30 different icons. Later on back at home I will name em.

Hope this helps.

Tom

Dam Yankee,

The problem is not that I don't know how to place an icon --its the process !!

The Process you just described might take about 30sec to 1min to do all that.  Thats what i am talking about--

instead of having to goto "Go to waypoints, edit, select a waypoint to edit, go down to icons, then highlight the icon and move the arrow up and down to select between 30 different icons"

Why not just have it where when you hit "Mark"--a pop up comes up with the Icons or names.  Then select what you want and move on.

100% bull's eye Bobby!!

That would be really nice. Garmin has it that way and allthough I'm not a Garmin fan anymore, I really like it their way.
