Most accurate shallow water settings???
« on: March 17, 2011, 01:18:59 PM »
What is the minimum "accurate" depth reading possible from a 998c si?  And, what would be the most accurate frequency and settings for depth soundings from 20 feet to 2 feet?  It will be in brackish water with a range in salinity of 1.0 to 24 ppt.  Thanks again for your help.

For accurate readings, I use these settings.

200 kHz only between 0-10ft
surface clutter between 6-10
Fixed range to 10ft, in 0-10ft situation
Switchfire Clear Mode

I have reliable depth readings up to 1.5ft
