Title: Stripes in image
Post by: sonarbear on May 05, 2016, 06:26:05 AM
Hi,

yesterday I was having weird stripes in the 455 kHz SI. You cann see very thin horizontal lines, typically one ping, where there is very little, if any, return. Then there is also the wider dark area, where it seems that recording didn't capture anything. The 2D is also failing at this point.
What's happening? Bad contact in plug? Bubbles below xducer?[attachimg=1]

Dark horizontal lines in the SI image are usually blockage of some sort ...

Intermittent dark horizontal lines are usually bubbles ...

Advance the recording thru that area of the history and notice if your boat speed may have increased ...which can increase the likelihood of bubble creation from your hull design ...

Seaweed on the transducer may look like that. /Rickard
