Onix, GPS puck & Smartcraft
« on: July 15, 2015, 07:33:33 AM »
I have an Onix10Si CT. I also have my old AS GR50 gps puck from my core unit which I am currently not using.

If I buy an AS-GPS-NMEA wire, can I connect the GPS puck to my Onix and then splice into my smartcraft system for my Mercury Verado and get GPS speed on my smartcraft gauge? Will this work?

Will I have to enable NMEA out on my Onix? I see internet posts on the core units indicating you have to, but I see no reference to the Onix (or setting in my Onix) for that matter.

Also, this new AS-GPS-NMEA cable has 4 data wires, which one would I splice into my smartcraft for the data stream (orange, blue, yellow or brown)? I already know I have to connect the grounds together.

Thanks in advance !
