have installed a XNT-9-SI-180-T transducer supporting a 698 HD SI unit on an aluminum boat. The transducer is mounted as per instructions on the port side of the lower edge of the transom. the transducer is level and the mid line of the transducer is just below the bottom of the boat.
The boat is powered only by electric trolling motor on the bow, but requires a rudder on the stern to provide directional stability ( especially in wind or when drifting).
I do not wish to mount the rudder in such a way as to interfere with the side imaging.
So, how much space should exist between the trailing edge of the boat bottom and the leading edge of the rudder to permit un fettered tranasducer SI action?
