Down Imaging?
« on: January 15, 2010, 02:28:51 AM »
Can someone explain to me what this down imaging stuff is? I only use my 797c2 for the sidescan for underwater wrecks and such. What is this down imaging thing for?

In a nutshell. When you scan with your fishfinder, 2d, returns are noted, but what are the returns? Are they fish, trees, weeds? Down under will increase your resolving capacity determining what is actually on the bottom.
This web site has examples of the technology in action. Give it a try.
