Snapshots
« on: September 23, 2012, 12:12:10 PM »
I took some snapshots on my 798. So I took the card out of my unit and put the reader in my computer. Is there a way to look at these images on humminbirdpc or some other program and be able to change settings or adjust the picture. I am not very computer savvy to say the least. So any help would be great.

HumminbirdPC does not have the ability to view picture images but most computers come with a program that does.  Try double clicking on one of the picture files (a *.png file) and see if you get Microsoft Office Picture Viewer or some such program.  If not, I believe that there are some pretty basic free picture viewing programs on the Internet you could download and install on your computer.

Thanks Greg I figured that part out and I can view them as pictures.  Now I am wondering is there a program out there that will allow me to view and change settings. Or does it have to be a recording for a set amount of time. And what is the best for doing this. SIview  son2xtf or some other.also can I view them off my sd card on my 798 and be able to adjust settings.

I am not aware of any program that will allow you to view the screen snapshots and make menu setting changes to the sonar.  The screen snapshots are just that: an image of what was on the display when you took it.  There is no data there to adjust.

Sonar recordings can be viewed on the unit and any menu adjustment will be seen just as if you were on the water.  You can use other 3rd party programs to view the sonar recordings and most of these allow some type of adjustment when doing so.  I am not familiar with these programs so someone else will have to let you know what adjustments are available.  I recommend that you ask this question in the appropriate area of the web site for a better response though:

Speedtroller, SONORTRX will let you do a lot of Screen Adjustment to the Screen Shot.
