Hello,
I wanted to know if the version 4.3.8 can manage groups via an SD card or if you have to go through the cable??

Yes you can perform all aspects of way point management on the sd card from humminbird pc. This includes creating groups, moving waypoints from 1 group to another, deleting groups, and adding way points to a group.
