Can anyone tell me what will happen if you don't reset your defaults before downloading a new software version? It was my first download...got in a hurry and didn't reset defaults, now I am worried!

So what was the result ? is the unit working as it should !

The new version downloaded fine. The unit seems to work....I haven't got to use it yet. What problems occur when you do not restore defaults?

cwarner the unit will let you know if the update is wrong. Depth readings
could be off whatever the update was for won't work. Then again you might luck out
and everything works good even though you did not reset factory defaults before and
after your update. I would not worry either way because you can always update it again
just takes time. Gary

Part of the software is a automatic default setting before starting the new upload.
That was stated with one of the software releases last year.
If some stuff acts strange, do a post upload default setting so the unit will forget about the upload.

It all depends on what level of software you had in your unit before you updated it. If it had new enough software than the unit automatically reset the menus to the defaults as Wayne stated. But, if the unit is working fine now than no worries!
