Digital readout resizable?
« on: March 29, 2014, 12:38:18 PM »
Yesterday, I received my first SI  unit a Humminbird 899ci HD and I immediately dent off the XNT transducer to upgrade to the XHS and am waiting for that transducer before putting the unit on the boat. So I have been running through all the simulations and screens to familiarize myself with the functions when the big day comes when I can put the unit into active service.
My question is: is there a way to resize the digital readout window so that it doesn't take up 20% of the screen real estate? Or is there a way to make it say 90% translucent?

If you change the settings menu to advanced user (at least in the 898) you can make the readouts disappear, or make them translucent. Here' s an example. You may have to set your background to white instead of black. (tap the power button when in sim or normal mode)

I also turn my readouts off completely when using SI only. It does temp and depth, which personally is all I need when in the SI view.
